Hey,
We will have a vacant job at our "booking desk" in Vienna from September.
Whatīs that?
We have a team of four persons (all full-time) working in the backoffice of Wombatīs Vienna - The Lounge. These four spend their agonizing days with:
- handling all incoming emails for both of our hostels in Vienna
- pick up the phone and answer even the most stupid questions politely
- manage the availabilities on various booking sites
- and a few other things
We know this sort of job is pretty boring after a while, thatīs why you would do it only on three days a week and spend the other two days at the front desk where you arenīt staring at a monitor 8 hours a day.
Before you apply consider this:
- itīs a full-time job = 40 hours = 5 days per week
- you need to have a EU work permit
- speaking German is really a "must" here. You donīt have to speak it perfectly, but, say, pretty well.
- that job is not for people who just want to spend a few months here. You will have to learn how to do a lot of things, and we donīt want to waste our time with explaining it to somebody with itchy feet.
- it would be cool if you could start in August already, because weīll have to give you training for
two jobs (reception and reservations office)
- some "hostel experience" is appreciated. We wouldnīt have to start from zero.
Despite some boredom potential, this is a pretty cool job. Weīre Viennaīs top-rated hostel, which means there are usually no unhappy guests ruining your day with complaints. Weīre a wicked team, too. No old and clueless assholes around, the hostel managers are 22 and 24 years old. Thereīs maximum flexibility when youīd work: you and your three collegues make your roster yourself. Nobody cares who works on any particular day as long as there is
someone.
Since that job is as close as it gets to managing a hostel without being the actual manager itīs obviously the pole position to becoming a hostel manager here. If thatīs what you want.
We know money is totally unimportant for you. So, since you donīt ask, the salary is € 1600 per month before taxes and social security. Thatīs around € 1100 in your pocket. Double pay on public holidays. 14 Salaries per year, 5 weeks paid holidays per year.
PM or email me ( klaus[at]wombats.at ) me if you are interested and/or have questions.
Cheers,
Klaus
