Talking Hostels In Venezuela "A VIRGIN MARKET"

A hostel in Venezuela would do very well because of the lack of competition, you have to be optimistic, and also we have something called Cooperatives, being a cooperative as well you don't have to pay taxes, you just have to want it.

I'll show you a little video from my country, Still virgin and without Hostels, and very few Hotels as well, also i could find very cheap lands to make it real wherever you see in that video, or even better, everywhere i can seek for a piece of land... check them out

    David,

Are there any hostels in Caracas? I have heard about one place but I'm not sure if it is still running.

I'm thinking about publishing a guidebook to South America, but our editorial policy means that hostels are the only accommodation that we review. The lack of hostels in Venzuela are preventing us from publishing a South America guide.

There is not any hostel in Caracas as far as I know, I'm starting to build mine up in a virgin coastal zone, but as far as know there aren't hostels in Venezuela,
we have something called "posadas" those are like hostels is pretty personal, but is more like a hotel.

Want to be careful though, make too much money and Comrade Hugo might decide to "nationalise" it.

    hey fencer_david,
are you from venezuela? is that your nationality? what type of hostel are you thinking of setting up? .. have you written a business plan? .. do you need investors or are you planning on taking out loans? .. I've been thinking about starting a hostel for awhile now. I've been thinking somewhere in Central/South America or southeast Asia. I'm having trouble trying to find business partner's though. I have several friends that say they want to get involved, but don't want to help with the actual start-up process. I need a partner that's willing to 'start' a hostel, not a fair weather partner/investor. Tell me more about what you're thinking. Thanks!

A reason why investing in Venezuela might not be a good idea:

Oil-exporting countries usually have a huge trade surplus, which makes the currency strong. A bad exchange rate makes travelling expensive. I was in South America several times, but never went to Venezuela because I have been told itīs an expensive country.

Argentina only emerged as a big backpacker destination after the peso collapsed.

I think the rise of hostels can easily happen in any economic crisis affected countries... Budget-tourism goes up anywhere after the economy gone bad and everything becomes cheaper! So all we need for the rise of US hostels is a big economic crisis for the US!
