Default Roomorama.com - renting rooms to travelers

    Seen on Backpackers.com:

Roomorama.com lets people rent out rooms to travelers. The site takes an 8% booking fee.

It only lists New York City at the moment, but it says more cities are coming soon. A pricing guide is here.

I wonder if there are any legal issues with people essentially turning their apartments into mini-hotels.

I assume that depends on the country. Here in Austria there wouldnīt be legal issues. With no more than 10 beds you donīt even have to have a license or pay VAT.
