How to Maintain Income During a Price War?

Does anyone have ideas on how to keep income from dropping too low during a price war?

Here's a brainstormed list of ideas mostly taken from other discussions online and offline:

• create a range of prices depending on amenities included.
• add-ons once the guests are in house -- like $1 to use the toilet (kidding). Food, bar, Internet, vending, etc.
• build a memorable brand name that customers rave about so that they need to stay there even if it's slightly more expensive
